Knight Rider: The Movie??

Knight Rider

Best news I've read all year. The Weinstein company, who are rumored to possibly be Jewish (rumor not confirmed), has acquired rights to produce a movie based on the sizzling, incredibly popular television series that melded hundreds of thousands of childhoods in the eighties: Knight Rider (sorry for those of you who got excited about a possible Punky Brewster screenplay [she's hot, by the way]).

Anyway, enough nested parentheticals. I am psyched as hell for this movie to come out. The only way anyone could possibly compete with this is if they came out with a MacGyver movie.

I'm a little nervous, however. Early indicators lead me to believe that David "Beer Me" Hasselhoff will not be starring in the movie as Michael Knight, although he is expected to aid in the production, as well as provide input for the script and potentially play an on-screen role in which he serves as a "master" to some younger KITT operator. It just won't be the same though. If Stallone can come back at 132 years old to play one more Rocky movie, why can't Hasselhoff don a shitload of makeup and be the badass he once was (not to be confused with the pansy he's become)?

UPDATE: It seems as if the movie poster above is not an actual Weinstein-released poster, but rather a creation from an eager fan. Still looks badass though.
